NIWO Introduces Vehicle Register from May 2022!

NIWO vehicle register becomes mandatory from May 2022.

NIWO

From 22 May 2022, NIWO has decided to make the vehicle register mandatory, following the permit limit rules that will change in the European Mobility Package. NIWO permit holders must submit their information in the vehicle register. Companies that do not comply with the new regulations risk losing their NIWO permit!

What does this mean for the transport sector?

All transport companies with an NIWO permit must comply with this obligation. In the vehicle register, transport companies register all their vehicles for which a permit has been issued, identified by their license plate. In addition to vehicles, all drivers working for the company must be registered. The vehicle register will be added as a module to the business portal.

There must be a healthy balance between the number of permits and drivers. It does not make sense if an entrepreneur has 20 permits but only 3 drivers employed. NIWO will conduct stricter controls on this. Failure to submit this information can result in revocation of the permit.
