KSZ Transport takes the complexity out of tachograph compliance: 181 drivers now have Roadsoft's WhatsApp Assistant riding along
All 181 drivers gain a co-driver who does know the complex tachograph rules by heart. He takes up no room in the cab, because he simply sits in WhatsApp.

Amsterdam, 2 September 2026. As of today, a 'tachograph assistant' rides along with all 181 drivers at KSZ Transport. The Moerdijk-based haulier connected its entire driver base to Roadsoft's WhatsApp Assistant in one go. Roadsoft, a specialist in tachograph compliance since 2007, prepared the largest rollout of the Assistant to date together with KSZ. Today, for the first time, the Assistant joins every driver in the cab.
Whenever a driver commits an infringement, from driving and rest times to operating the device and entering country codes, he receives an explanation via WhatsApp, complete with an explainer video. This gives drivers help with legislation that is hard to fathom even from behind a desk.
For KSZ, this solves three things at once. The driver gets help at the moment it matters. Follow-up no longer lands on the transport manager's desk as an ever-growing pile of tasks. And because every conversation is recorded as an inspection-ready file, KSZ can demonstrate that it actively follows up on infringements.
Manual follow-up no longer feasible
KSZ Transport is growing fast, with 100+ vehicles and an international driver base. Since early 2026 the company has been using Roadsoft's analysis software, which clearly showed where drivers would benefit from extra explanation. The catch: following up each driver manually quickly takes an hour per month. For 181 drivers, that is not something you fit in on the side.
Add to that the fact that the ILT, the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate, is tightening its enforcement. Alongside roadside checks, the inspectorate is increasingly turning to digital company inspections and remote enforcement, reading out tachograph data from a distance. Follow-up is no longer optional: you have to do it, and during an inspection you must be able to demonstrate that infringements have been discussed with the driver.
"For growing transport companies, full tachograph compliance is a serious challenge. Following up every driver by hand is an enormous job, hardly feasible anymore. The WhatsApp Assistant takes that work off their hands, and it is great to see how well KSZ is handling this."
— Valentijn Griffioen, Customer Success Manager at Roadsoft
Help for the driver, control for the company
More and more transport companies face the same combination: growing fleets, stricter enforcement and little time to talk to every driver. And the tachograph rules are complicated.
Around night work and mandatory breaks it is not always clear what applies when, and incorrect operation of the tachograph or an incompletely entered country code remains a recurring infringement. Following all of that up manually is a cumbersome task for driver and manager alike.
That is where the WhatsApp Assistant helps the driver on the road. After an infringement, it sends a chat message with an explainer video: what went wrong, and how do you prevent it next time? As a result, drivers make the same mistake less and less often. It also works both ways. The driver indicates what was going on, a schedule that was too tight, for example, so KSZ can address it together with him. And because the system automatically records every conversation, KSZ keeps its proof of follow-up inspection-ready at all times.
"For us, this is about more than compliance. It shows our drivers that we invest in them and want to help them do their job well and with peace of mind."
— Onur Arslan, Director at KSZ Transport
